Watershed Management mainly deals with the Conservation of Existing natural resources and further enhancing its use efficiency for sustainable growth. Sustainability of Watershed is an important parameter for success of a watershed programme.
Agriculture and allied sectors are traditionally a main livelihood source for the inhabitants of watershed. Sustainability of Agriculture and allied sectors is of prime importance for addressing their livelihood component .Conservation of natural resources and its efficient use is the driving force for attaining sustainability in Agriculture and allied sector. Further, intensifying the agriculture production will not put burden on the existing natural resources. This way the over exploitation and unbalanced use of natural resources will be prevented and ultimately it provide a thrust to conservation of existing natural resources.
Hence the Conservation of natural resources and Agriculture development both are interdependent for the achieving the sustainability in watershed programme.
