Barnyard millet can be grown in wide range of soil and climate. It has better edge over wheat and rice as cereals crop for its better resistance capabilities.  Barnyard millet is resistant  to adverse climate .It can be grown under wide range of climate and can survive in adverse climate. The stalks of the barnyard millets are used for cattle.
